| Many of you may remember me as a member of the BHBPA for a number of years in my role as an International Trade Adviser, firstly employed by DIT and later as a freelance, perhaps particularly in relation to the challenges for companies around Brexit! For the past year or so I have been ‘almost’ retired and am spending some time on volunteer work with the local Ukrainian Refugee Support Group that has been set up in the villages close to Burgess Hill. My main role is to help any Ukrainian refugees who want to find work with their CVs, filling out forms for employment agencies and connecting them with potential employers. I felt this was an area where I was most able to be of some value. I also give English conversation practice each week to a couple of ladies, and am beginning to be involved with the issues around future accommodation as some of the hosting arrangements will be terminating in the coming months. |
