BHBPA welcomes prospective members from across the Mid Sussex area. If you run a business, or you are part of an organisation, that’s interested in either doing business with other businesses in the Burgess Hill area or contributing to our business community we’d love to hear from you.

Membership requires completing a form giving contact details and a few other basic facts including payment details. Information provided to the BHBPA is used and stored in line with data protection law. For example, we do not give out mailing list with details of company members, although we can facilitate introductions via email and face-to-face at our regular meetings.

The annual membership subscription fees for 2020 are tiered as follows:

1-10 employees @ £120

11-50 employees @ £240

51+ employees @ £360

Membership runs from January to December and members either pay the full amount by BACS early in the calendar year or monthly through the year by Standing Order.

We encourage new members to provide an introductory article for the newsletter as well as adding their name to our published list of members.

All BHBPA members are invited to attend event meetings, most of which are free to members. When oversubscribed we operate a first come first served basis.

Members are also encouraged to attend our bi-annual flagship events. The “Burgess Hill Means Business Expo” and “BH Biz Awards”.

New prospective members are reminded, that BHBPA is a community of businesspeople and not a place for sales driven B2B networking.

Benefits of joining

Membership represents outstanding value for money. The subscriptions charged for membership begin at £120 per year for companies who employ fewer than 10 staff with higher rates for more substantial businesses.

The BHBPA remit reaches wider than the central sites of Burgess Hill’s designated business parks. Many members are based in neighbouring towns and villages across Mid Sussex.

“A problem shared is be a problem halved” as they say and if you are in business, simply knowing other business leaders can be a great help. Working with others to solve common issues can be even more impactful.

BHBPA is an affiliate member of the Sussex Chambers of Commerce and so our members enjoy access to a range of the Chambers’ services at preferential rates.

We enjoy good relationships with other business associations such as GDB, the Gatwick Diamond business organisation, which works on behalf of commerce from Redhill to Brighton. Similarly, we very much friends with the business associations in Haywards Heath (HHBA) and East Grinstead (EGBA).

As a member you will be signed up to receive the regular BHBPA newsletter, which enables you to keep up to date regarding events and business meetings around Mid Sussex. We encourage members to share their newsworthy items for publication in the newsletter and web site.

You will be entitled to attend regular networking meetings, typically one per month, and these are usually free to members.

For a small fee you can come be part of our successful bi-annual exhibition and enjoy not only showcasing to others what you do, but also help broadcast the benefits of working in and around Burgess Hill.

On alternative years we celebrate the successes of our members in style at our Burgess Hill ‘Biz Awards’ evening.

In joining you will become part of a very friendly group of like-minded business-oriented people. Our shared aim is to make business in mid Sussex as successful as possible.

"Regular, well organised events, excellent updates and information by email along with a warm welcome from the Chair and Coordinator are just some of the positives at BHBPA."

"“I have belonged to this group since I started my own business, Lea Graham Associates, in 1986. The association has been through several incarnations since then, but its most recent one, BHBPA, is by far the best.

It’s much more than just a networking group, although it is supremely good at that too. BHBPA is inclusive and friendly and acts like a mutual-support society. The events are stimulating, worthwhile and often great fun and I believe most members share this opinion.”"

Susan Fleet, Managing Director

"“I can’t speak highly enough of the BHBPA. As a small local business we feel very much part of a community and thoroughly enjoy the annual exhibition and meetings throughout the year. Over the years we have built fantastic working relationships with many BHBPA members and every meeting and event offers us opportunities to work with more. This is networking at its best! ” "

"As the local hospice for the area, it’s great that we receive so much support from the BHBPA. Last year the members raised an amazing £2150 through activities such as Bake Off and the BHBiz Awards. Each well planned members meeting enables good networking opportunities and speakers that are relevant to the present climate and local issues. We are proud to be members of BHBPA."
