|Mid Sussex Active (MSA) is a School Sport Partnership.
Through engagement with key partners such as local schools, community sport groups, national governing bodies and local businesses, the partnership exists to support schools with PE and Sport in a wide variety of ways.
We run a comprehensive calendar of competitions and festivals to encourage children to engage in sport and physical activity from an early age.
Our Professional Development programme is nationally recognised and develops teachers and school staff to deliver high quality physical activity and PE provision across the Mid Sussex Schools.
We also coordinate a workforce for local sport in school (sports leaders and volunteers) who assist to expand the sporting opportunities for all, in the community.
We are a not for profit organisation and all of our programmes and projects are funded through sponsorship or applying for external funding bids.
In each academic year over 8,000 children actively participate in 50+ competitions & events and over 3,000 sports leaders are trained and deployed.
We train 100+ school staff each year and work with over 40 other organisations and clubs to run targeted projects to encourage young people to be active.
Although our office is based in Burgess Hill, at St Paul’s Catholic College, we work with 49 schools across the district from East Grinstead, Haywards Heath, Burgess Hill, Hassocks and all the small rural schools in between.
The partnership is made up of 3 core staff. Vicki coordinates our events, Caroline runs our CPD and curriculum support in schools. And myself, Holly, is the strategic lead and has overall responsibility for the management of the partnership.
I look forward to meeting you at an event in the near future and if you would like any further information about the partnership and what we do please do not hesitate to reach out.
