While global warming seems to be affecting our weather at an increasingly alarming rate, as we move into the depths of winter, the risk of snow and icy roads is still a real threat to carrying out normal business activities as well as personal safety.
I have been sent a map (to be made available for viewing, along with the covered road names) in the early January 2020 newsletter) which shows the major roads around Burgess Hill (marked in green) and the business park roads (marked in blue) that WSCC is committed to gritting in the event of icy conditions.
There’s also a red square designating the solitary County Council maintained salt bin in the area.
I was surprised to see that neither the route of York Road / top end of Charles Avenue / Jubilee Road / Consort Road on the Victoria Business Park, nor the Sheddingdean Business Park altogether, appear to be in-scope for WSCC gritting.
Whether or not this is correct I’ll double check, but if members have any additional comments / questions do drop me a line.
