Other news from the AGM – it was proposed that adult and junior boys subscriptions remain unchanged at £60, while the girl’s and women’s subscriptions will be increased to £60 to bring them in line with all other subscriptions. The sibling discounted membership of £35 for the second child will remain. Subscriptions include all winter training and match fees for youth games. In addition, if anyone feels that they would like to make a further voluntary donation to the club we would be most grateful.
Payments for annual subs can be made using the club’s online membership payment system – https://app.loveadmin.com/sign-in. Members who paid using this system last season can use their account and log in details. New members will need to register first. We would like everyone to use this system this coming season for membership payments. The system allows members to add their voluntary donation at the end of the payment process.
BHCC Christmas Quiz
Saturday 14th December sees our Quizmaster Paul Elphick returning to the club to host our annual Christmas Quiz at the clubhouse. All are welcome, please do come along and enjoy an excellent evening’s festive entertainment while at the same time supporting the club. We’ve been promised mince pies, mulled wine and some special Christmas discounts at the bar! Start time 7.30 pm, we look forward to seeing you there!
Throughout November our U11 and U14 boys were in action in their indoor leagues. Both teams faced some very tough opponents over their games but the U14s did enjoy a comprehensive win over Scaynes Hill, scoring 160 for 3 before restricting the opposition to 122-3.
Details of the Adult and Youth 2020 winter nets timetable and all relevant information that will hopefully answer any questions are below.
Winter nets are again to be held in the Hurst College Sports Hall every Sunday afternoon for the Youth and Sunday evenings for Adults. Sessions commence on Sunday 9th February, 2.00 pm – 5.00 pm for Youth and 7.00 pm – 9.00 pm for Adults. Nets will continue up until Sunday April 5th.
The timetable is as follows –
U11s – U15s (this coming seasons age groups)
For the Sunday afternoon sessions, we are proposing the following times and lane net allocations for the boys and girls, based on their age groups for this coming season. These, we believe, use the optimum allocation of time and coaching resources whilst balancing out the numbers of youngsters in each age group. The timetable for youth sessions by age group is below.
2.00pm – 3.00pm 3.00pm – 4.00pm 4.00pm – 5.00pm
Lane1/2 Lane3/4 Lane1/2 Lane3/4 Lane 1/2 Lane 3/4
U11 Boys U12 Boys U13 Boys U15 Boys U14 Boys U13/16 Girls
Any U10 boys who are considered by their manager and their parents to be competent and safe to play hardball cricket are invited to attend the U11 sessions from 2.00 – 3.00 pm. Those older girls who already play Ladies cricket can attend the evening Ladies net sessions instead of, or as well as, the afternoon ones. Those U15 boys who have played adult cricket can also attend both the junior and senior sessions.
U10s and Younger (this seasons age groups), U11 girls
For those boys who are U10 and younger this coming season, and those girls who are U11, we have again booked the larger Oakmeeds Sports Hall on Tuesday evenings from 6.00 – 7.30 pm for softball practice and coaching. These sessions will be again be run by a Sussex CCC coach and are guaranteed to be great fun. All of our ‘All Stars’ from last year are invited to come along to these sessions. The sessions commence on Tuesday 4th February and continue every week up to and including the 7th April. We are again coaching in Burgess Hill primary schools in January, February and March and will be inviting those children attending their school sessions to come along to these evenings.
Adult, Ladies, U16s & U15s (this seasons age groups)
Adult nets commence on Sunday evenings between 7.00 pm and 9.00 pm at Hurst College from the 9th February, continuing up until the Sunday 5th April. We have again booked four lanes this year. We anticipate that these will be allocated as lanes 1,2 & 3 for Adult and Youth players and lane 4 for our Ladies as before.
