I wondered if any of your members might just possibly help with this?
Due to stringent new requirements from the Environmental Health Department, we have been told that antiseptic gel is no longer a sufficient safeguard against infection after handling live animals of any kind, but that adequate portable hand washing facilities must be provided for the public. The Friends of Burgess Hill Green Circle Network are a small local conservation charity, we are all unpaid volunteers. We hold several free events for the community throughout spring and summer, including ‘Wild About Mid Sussex’ and the ‘Children’s Safari’, as well as many others, at which live animals are normally present. We need to buy a purpose-built portable sink, particularly for the many children who attend each event and love handling live reptiles and other creatures, but also for their parents, as this is a legal hygienic requirement. We can only do this by means of a donation, sponsorship or a grant.
I wonder if any of your members would be willing to help? We would, of course, fix a plaque to the sink acknowledging the company or companies concerned, should any of them enable us to buy it. Thank you for considering this somewhat desperate request.
