THE MARTLETS SHOPPING CENTRE REDEVELOPMENT PLANS
NewRiver Retail’s planning application for the redevelopment of The Martlets Shopping Centre was approved by Mid Sussex District Council’s Planning Committee yesterday.
Easter is just 2 weeks away and the final arrangements are being made to the programme of activities planned during the two week school holiday. This year, instead of one event, the Operational Town Team has organised various activities to take place over several days to attract footfall into the town centre. So what’s in store?
Families will be able to enjoy seeing and touching the animals at the Petting Farm. There’ll also be mini toy tractors for children to pedal around on. Both of these take place on Tuesday 29th March from 11am to 3pm in Church Walk. Jonathan Cann will be returning with his Magic Show on Thursday 31st March at The Bandstand and Tuesday 5th April at The Martlets Shopping Centre – both shows start at 11am. All are FREE.
Of course there is a children’s Easter Egg Hunt with a chance to win a 1kg Lindt Chocolate Bunny. The free Competition runs from Friday 25 March to Sunday 10 April and entry forms can be picked up and returned to Kids Stuff, Woody’s and the Help Point. Each child who returns a completed entry form will receive an Easter chocolate lollipop (subject to availability/T&Cs apply).
Inkpots are really pleased to be joining with Burgess Hill Town Centre Partnership to offer a series of mini writing workshops during the Easter holidays for children age 8 – 11 years. The workshops are on Friday 1st and 8th April in the Martlets Hall Foyer. For further information, including cost and booking a place visit www.inkpots.org or contact Gill by emailing email@example.com or phone her on 07771 231563.
And we have the Cuckoo’s Nest Morris Dancers paying a visit to The Martlets Shopping Centre on Saturday 2nd April from 12pm to 2pm. All in all it’s going to be a great Easter.
