Dear Team Member
On 31st January, Town Mayor Jacqui Landriani unveiled Burgess Hill’s first Blue Plaque, dedicated to the Norris Brothers and Donald Campbell C.B.E. The Plaque was generously sponsored by Burgess Hill District Lions Club. More than 60 years ago, the Norris Brothers engineering business of Burgess Hill was established in an office above the current T.S.B. bank in Church Walk. The plaque has been installed on the side of the building.
Mid Sussex District Council’s growth proposals for Burgess Hill took another step forward this week after securing, a £14.9m funding package for transport and other infrastructure improvements in the town with support from West Sussex County Council. This comes from the latest round of awards from the Local Growth Fund run by the Department of Communities and Local Government.
MSDC is working closely with WSCC and Burgess Hill Town Council on the design and delivery of the package. The aim of the transport project is to improve connectivity, congestion and journey time reliability.
