Hospice’s Star Walk supported by Sainsbury’s
Sainsbury’s (Haywards Heath) launched its charity appeal with St Peter & St James Hospice, naming it Charity of the Year in summer 2014. Over the past two years the store has given a great deal of support while some employees have been extremely active fundraisers. Last year, 40 members of staff took part in the Hospice’s annual night walk and this year sees Carol Landridge’s last time in Star Walk.
Star Walk takes place on Saturday 9 July and is the final time for Carol, a Customer Service Assistant at Sainsbury’s. Carol has taken part for the past two years and raised over £2,800. This year, with the generous support of Sainsbury’s customers, Carol has already raised £4,800. If you would like to donate, please see the Hospice’s website at www.stpeter-stjames.org.uk/donate
Sainsbury’s is also supporting the event by donating refreshments, helping with promotion and providing parking on the night.
Carol said, “It’s always a pleasure to support St Peters & St James Hospice as the care they give is phenomenal. Through my customers and friendships, I’ve learnt what amazing care givers they are – not just for the patient, but also for family and friends. I’d also like to thank my family, especially my Mum and lovely customers who have been supportive and so generous.”
Giles Witcomb, Head of Fundraising at St Peter & St James Hospice, said, “We’re so grateful to all at Sainsbury’s for their support, particularly Carol Landridge. A special thank you to Carol for all her effort over the years and to everyone who generously supported her.”
