We had a beautiful summer evening this year for the event at Ridgeview Wine Estate, and those 25 or so who came along seemed to be delighted with what they had seen, heard and tasted.
Tamara, as company CEO, took us on the tour and this year we were able once again to walk through the vineyard in splendid late afternoon sunlight. We walked down through a copse to another field of vines, growing perfectly according to Tamara, who is very optimistic about this year’s crop. The hot sun is what they need at this time of year, and we seem to be getting some such days this summer.
It was as always a friendly and appreciative crowd who came for the tour, and a lot of easy networking took place amongst them. Back at the central buildings we went inside for a tour of the winemaking facility, and Tamara took us through all the separate processes needed to ensure a perfect end product. As the company grows, so new and automative equipment is required to facilitate more wine production. They are now producing more than 200,000 bottles per year and they have new buildings on the way to cope with their expansion.
Few people demurred when she suggested we go up to the tasting room, and once there we were treated to three different types of their six main products. As the sparkling wine went down so the hubbub became louder and everyone seemed to enjoy it thoroughly. We had a good turnout in particular from Vega and from Bennett Oakley. By 7pm it was time to head off. I thanked Tamara and Estie for their work in putting this event on for the BHBPA and left for home. Ridgeview is a fine asset for Burgess Hill and the Business Parks Association, and long may our friendship continue.
Thanks to all those who came along. I hope you will see the photos I took on the website.
