ARE YOU PROTECTED AGAINST THE COST OF AN HMRC INVESTIGATION?

The likelihood of having an investigation by the HMRC has increased dramatically. Our insurers have recorded a substantial increase in claims over the last year and we would invite you to join our Tax Investigation Scheme, which will protect you against the costs of an investigation into your affairs by HM Revenue and Customs.

The scheme protects you against the additional fees in helping us defend you. Many enquiries are selected at random and even if your tax return and business records are accurate and the taxman finds no errors, the costs can be substantial. Having a conscientious accountant and thorough bookkeeping will not stop you being chosen for an enquiry.

We are pleased to offer a discount of 12% should 3 or more connected businesses or 10% if 3 or more family members join the Scheme at the same time.

There is no excess and you get peace of mind for a small subscription and as an added benefit, you get access to a legal telephone helpline.

The cost covers you for our professional fees up to a maximum of £100,000, with very few exceptions, e.g. enquiries involving tax avoidance schemes. A service summary detailing the benefits of the service and any exclusions is accessible here.

The scheme runs from 1st October each year, so we would appreciate your response as soon as possible. By completing the Fee Protection Response Form (link here), you agree to us passing your name to Professional Fee Protection Limited for this insurance and who may, in turn, share data with underwriters and parties involved in the course of administering any insurance contract. Cover cannot commence until we have received your remittance – please ensure you quote the reference BHB001 with your payment.
