Good Evening Susan,
I hope you don’t mind me contacting you. Along with other voluntary work, I am the secretary of the Burgess Hill Branch of the Royal British Legion.
We organise the Remembrance parade in the Town and usually after the service in the St John’s church we invite anyone who took part in the parade back to the Mid Sussex Conservative Club for refreshments provided by the club and 3 of their members. We have serving and ex service members who come from all over Sussex and having been on parade for nearly 3 hours they are in need of refreshment!
However this year they have a problem as 2 of the ladies are away and they have no-one to help prepare and serve the food.
They have offered the RBL £125 towards the cost of the food, but having been to a local café (The Tasty Crust) they would charge £4 per head which for @ 100 people would be £400. So we are looking for donations to make up the short fall of £275.
In the past we have received help from local businesses to pay for the expenses incurred on Remembrance Sunday and I remembered you saying you were involved with the business park and hoped perhaps some of your members would be willing to help out?
Regards
Sarah Voce
Hon Branch Secretary
