I received this email from Sarah Minett this week, below. It concerns another issue of parking and more importantly, careless and unthinking parking. On this occasion it seems that DPD have taken a temporary lease on the former Nova building and some drivers are not too thoughtful about their parking…
Hello Peter
I’m reaching out to you to share our concerns about safety in Edward Way and Charles Avenue due to the DPD vans, cars and lorries being parked there.
The attached photos were taken by a member of my staff this morning and reflect the chaos and impossible state of the roads with DPD vans, staff cars and HGVs blocking access. My staff are struggling to gain access into Edward Way and into our own premises. Staff have witnessed a number of minor accidents.
With the DPD vehicles parking so close to our car park exit and the junction with Charles Avenue, visibility is severely restricted and I fear it is only time until there is a more serious accident where someone could be hurt.
With the parking as it currently is, emergency vehicles will not be able to access the site, which of course is unacceptable.
I appreciate Rockwell Collins are most likely to be impacted with this situation, but are any of the other BHBPA members experiencing similar concerns? Do you have a contact at West Sussex County Council that we can approach to alert them of this issue please?
Thank you
Regards
