Open4Business

MSDC held their event yesterday at the Haywards Heath College site, which is at the moment redundant since the College was forced to close.  I was pleased to hear that there are plans to re-open it in September 2020.

The exhibition featured about 25 stands and an array of excellent speakers in a separate room. I went to hear Jonathan Ash-Edwards’ introductory remarks about the successes of business in the local area, and then was impressed with Simon Chuter telling us about a novel way of accessing student skills through the Catalyst Team at the Innovation Centre, part of Sussex University.  I also heard Jeff Alexander making some relevant and cogent points about the meeting the skills challenge. However, for me the best speech was delivered with great maturity by two apprentice ambassadors who told us all the benefits for a business of having an apprentice . The whole event was very well organised by The Rose Media Group, with help from TS Professional with the sound system.
