On Tuesday 3rd March there was a good turn out for the Northern Arc briefing at Burgess Hill Academy. Leader of the Council, Cllr Jonathan Ash-Edwards, set the context for the presentation before officers Judy Holmes, Assistant Chief Executive and Sally Blomfield, Divisional Leader for Planning & Economy, put on an excellent double-act taking us through a comprehensive briefing.
In summary, the Northern Arc is a massive programme with a whole slew of major projects that will deliver up to 3,500 homes, a new secondary school, 2 new primary schools, employment space, significant transport improvements, £162m of new infrastructure, 3 neighbourhood centres and a £350m investment from Homes England.

One of the key objectives was for business leaders to feel much better informed, and some of the comments I have received such as “I had completely underestimated the scale of the development.” And, “I was also really pleased to see investment going in to the fibre provision for the existing business parks.” Were quite typical.
