Peter,
We have for the last 9 months been wrestling with WSCC on a new lease. I am confident we will eventual reach agreement which will allow us to open 5 days a week. However, we want to open evenings and weekends and need more support for this.
This would enable us to create a maker space which could be of interest to business and their employees. In addition, we have developed several STEM projects for schools and would like to do more. It could be possible for engineering and science companies in particular to work with us on these projects. In some towns, local businesses support maker spaces and STEM centres. The main theme is the community being proactive and making things work for the benefit of all those in the town and district rather than depending on LAs. Obviously local businesses are part of that community.
I can provide briefings/presentations to interested organisations.
