Revision with Pizza
It has been another exciting term for The Burgess Hill Academy English department and students. 97 of our year 11 learners got to enjoy a Papa John’s pizza as part of our ‘Pizza Club’ reward scheme. Over the past term students have been studying hard and attending the weekly revision sessions, earning a slice of pizza per session, and on Tuesday got to enjoy the fruits of their labour in pizza form.
Throughout the course of the term our students have been revising their set texts, from Macbeth to Jane Eyre and revising hard for their poetry and language papers. Our revision sessions help student consolidate and expand their knowledge and offer an opportunity for year 11s to get a little bit of extra help and support.
We would like to thank Papa John’s, Burgess Hill for helping us make the reward session such a success and look forward to the next one.
Rotary Club Young Musician Competition
Earlier this term, we were delighted to host the Rotary Club Young Musician competition. It was a very successful event.
Congratulations to Anya Arogyaswamy for winning through to the Rotary District final on 26th February.
Thank you not only to the Burgess Hill Rotary Club, but also to Mr Kirkby and students Dan Willis, Robbie Marsland and Luke Simpson who assisted with sound and lighting.
