Befriended: Ending Loneliness, Together |
Befriended is a Sussex-based charity committed to bringing an end to loneliness and isolation among older people in our communities. Through compassionate support, friendship, and inclusive activities, we ensure no one has to face aging, dementia, caring responsibilities, or bereavement alone. |
Our wide range of activities from Community Choirs, Falls Prevention exercise classes to Café Neuro (dementia friendly cafe), Bereavement Support, and One-to-One Befriending are all designed to create connection, improve well-being, and build a sense of belonging. We also offer chaplaincy in care homes, monthly tea parties, and intergenerational outings that bring people together across all walks of life. At Befriended, we believe in the power of community, connection, and culture change to bring hope, joy, and purpose to those who need it most. |
Our dedicated team ensures that no one feels forgotten or alone. We are excited to partner with local businesses to bring about change By working together, we can: -Strengthen your working community ensuring loneliness and isolation is not part of your culture -Support your employees through life’s difficult seasons, such as grief and loss, with compassion and care. -Collaborate on changing the culture in Mid Sussex, creating a place where loneliness is no longer an issue. -Make a meaningful impact working together to transform lives, enrich our local community and model a society where no one feels lonely isolated or forgotten -Partnership can take many forms: sponsorship, volunteering, fundraising, or bespoke initiatives that align with our values.
