A degree apprenticeship is a powerful opportunity for both employers and learners. It combines real-world work experience with university study, helping businesses upskill their workforce while offering individuals a debt-free route to a degree at the University of Sussex.
Apprentices develop quantitative and analytical skills, as well as coding and programming capabilities required by modern business analysts in a variety of sectors.
The course teaches transferable workplace skills and builds the industry standard knowledge with a focus on practical problem-solving and real-life applications.
Apprentices will:
- understand the complexity of information systems, systems development, data, cyber security, business organisation, IT project management and computer and network infrastructure
- use data to evaluate commercial and security risks and benefits
- have clear focus on delivering business improvements to budget
- gain the most up to date knowledge from this new course
Apprentices usually study on campus one day a week and continue working the rest of the week, so they continue to earn. Apprenticeships are funded by the Apprenticeship levy and employers can use UK Government funding to cover up to 100% of the cost, while apprentices gain a degree without paying tuition fees. If you are not a levy payer Sussex can arrange a levy transfer to cover the funding.
