Making It Out is a new community workshop based in Portslade. It was set up to give people leaving prison an opportunity to learn new skills, gain experience and education with an aim to finding full time employment in the future.
Our directors have a variety of backgrounds ranging from teaching to probation, finance and social work.
We are looking for local businesses who are interested in commissioning us to make high quality products with a low carbon footprint and a positive social impact. We can make a wide range of products. Our facilities include woodworking machinery, a CAD/CAM suite, art and craft equipment, metalwork area, spray/sanding booth and hand tools. Our first project is a giant, rainbow coloured gull made out of wood and steel which will be displayed at Brighton Pride.
