Charlie also launched their all new 9 Furlong Club. A unique and exclusive networking club offering a platform for businesses to connect against a backdrop of incredible horse racing. First of these at the 3rd November meeting (£99pp). This was followed by the very knowledgeable Dan Soanes, employment law specialist from Sherrards, who gave a masterclass in the subtleties of redundancy and restructuring and how employers can navigate this with care, fairness and importantly, expeditiously. He presented a number of scenario conundrums that left most wondering…The solutions he explained were simple and clear. This was followed by a presentation from David Conlan of Galloways Accounting. He explained key elements to wise, tax efficient business restructuring, whether that is in the wake of divorce or a business partnership break-up or a family business being divided up down the generations. Holding company structures was something several of the audience said they were considering. An extended Q&A with both presenters and our audience, themselves employers and business owners, shed further light on several elements, such as how quickly a workforce could be restructured.  We were all treated to a fabulous cooked breakfast of eggs, sausage, bacon, and copious pastries, courtesy of the racecourse and prepared by Kalm Kitchen, their new catering partners. |
