Incident near Pepper Park

Earlier this week I sent out a message to all members concerning an incident involving a young woman whose Mother went into PVL and Wellesley in search of anyone who might have witnessed the incident. It happened on Thursday last week at or near Pepper Park at around 5.45.

Since then I have heard nothing more, either from the student, her Mother or the police.

The 17 year old student apparently walked from Wickes down Victoria Way, Victoria Gardens and Albert Drive to the entrance to the park, where it seems she was confronted by a white male who may have been hiding in the bushes. The student managed to escape and run off towards the town centre and home, but not before she had been terrified by this person. The police have been informed.

My request to you is that you do not delete any recent CCTV footage you may have which looks onto Victoria Way, Victoria Gardens or Albert Drive, as it may be useful to police in their investigations into this unfortunate incident.

Of course it’s possible that you saw the incident, in which case you should call the police on their non-emergency number.
