Young Enterprise
BHBPA director Susan Fleet acted as one of the judges of the Young Enterprise awards at the Martlets Hall last week. She’s been judging the competitionon behalf of the BHBPA for more than a decade, and is always impressed by the professionalism, entrepreneurship and talent on display.
The competition requires students to set up their own company, do their own book-keeping, create their own website, and complete many more business-related tasks.
Student presentations were judged by a panel of three: Susan, Sally Brown from Gatwick Diamond Business and Laura Klair from KPMG.
Competitors from Hurstpierpoint College, Warden Park Academy, Imberhorne School, Burgess Hill School, The College of Richard Collyer, Farlington School, Millais School, and Worth School took part in the event – with GlowB, a product designed by pupils at Hurstpierpoint College, winning the majority.
Susan said: “It was lovely to see Sussex youngsters thriving as entrepreneurs – Young Enterprise really gives them a great opportunity to learn about business from a young age. Judging from these competitors, it’s clear that Sussex business is looking towards a very bright future.”
