St Peter & St James is delighted to be supporting one of its patrons, Katie Derham, in ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
Katie Derham, journalist and broadcaster, became patron of St Peter & St James Hospice in December 2011. Since then, Katie has been a great supporter in actively raising awareness of hospice care and the need to raise much-needed funds for the hospice. Katie has featured as guest editor in the hospice’s magazine, ‘Caring’, and has just given her time to record a very professional introduction and conclusion to the St Peter & St James Hospice film which was launched last week as part of Hospice Care Week.
Katie Derham said,”It’s wonderful to know that while I’m having such fun learning to dance on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’, I’ve got the support from all the wonderful staff and patients at St Peter & St James! I hope I can bring a smile to their faces, even if not always to the judges’!”
Colin Burgess, Chief Executive of St Peter & St James Hospice, said, “We were delighted to learn that Katie is one of the contestants in this year’s ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ and think that she and Anton du Beke make a perfect partnership. Although we have got to know Katie well as one of our patrons, she had managed to keep her dancing skills quiet until now. Just as the hospice has enjoyed Katie’s invaluable support, we’ll be lending her our full support all the way through the competition!”
