Celebrate at Hospice Open Garden Party
On Saturday 21 May, St Peter & St James Hospice is holding its Open Garden Party to launch the start of the Open Gardens 2016 Programme. Everyone at St Peter & St James would like its local community to attend the event, being held at the Hospice, to see the facility and beautiful surroundings.
The event is from 1.30 – 5pm and costs just £2 per person with children entering for free. There will be a live band, homemade refreshments, countless stalls and the opportunity to play ‘Chip Chuck’. As well as this, people will have time to enjoy the tranquil and beautiful setting of the Hospice with views of the South Downs, see the Hospice’s donkeys, enjoy a stroll in the Woodland Walk, see the award-winning Reflective Garden (donated by Plumpton College) and meet with South Downs Nurseries’ ‘plant doctor’ who will be available to give advice from 2 – 4pm.
Giles Witcomb, Head of Fundraising at St Peter & St James Hospice, said, “I really encourage everyone to come to the Hospice and support us. It’s such a lovely occasion launching the Open Gardens events which run throughout the summer.
“This year, we’re extremely fortunate in having over 60 gardens taking part in the programme. It’s great having the support of so many garden openers and I encourage everyone to look at our website for details about the gardens. You can also pick up an Open Garden leaflet from any of our eight shops or the Reception at the Hospice.”
