At its meeting on 31st March 2021, Mid Sussex District Council adopted the Haywards Heath Town Centre Masterplan as a Supplementary Planning Document.
The Masterplan sets a vision for the future of Haywards Heath seeking to strengthen the position of the town by encouraging economic growth and attracting people to live, work and visit.
The Masterplan contains principles to guide any future schemes as and when they are brought forward. It does not include detailed designs for any scheme because it is not the delivery vehicle for any of the proposals set out within it. The identification of a particular proposal, scheme or opportunity site within the Masterplan does not guarantee it will be delivered; any implementation will be subject to further and separate detailed work which will be guided by the Masterplan.
Any future redevelopment proposals arising from the Masterplan will be subject to further public consultation on detailed designs, through the usual planning application process.
Adoption as a Supplementary Planning Document means that the contents of the Masterplan will have full weight in the determination of planning applications within the Masterplan area. The Masterplan replaces a previous version which was adopted in 2007.
