We would like to update you on a number of changes affecting hauliers travelling to the EU.
Restrictions on entering Denmark and Germany
As of Monday 17 May, if you’re returning to Denmark and Germany from the UK, you no longer require a COVID-19 test.
If you’re travelling from the UK, you don’t need to show proof that you’ve tested negative for COVID-19.
You should continue to check FCDO travel advice for any country you’re planning to enter.
However, please remember, if you’re arriving in England from abroad, you must still take a COVID-19 test if you are staying for more than 2 days.
Watford Gap Southbound Information and Advice site closure
From 10pm on 23 May, the Haulier Information and Advice site at Watford Gap Southbound services will close and COVID-19 testing for hauliers will no longer be available at this site.
A range of alternative sites are available – the Essex Arena site (A1306, Arterial Rd, Grays, Purfleet, RM19 1AE) is open 24/7 and has extra resources and staffing available.
COVID-19 safer practice rules for international hauliers
Read about the rules that you need to follow on safer practice for:
- isolating in your cab
- sleeping and breaks
- entering and exiting the vehicle
- loading and unloading
Please remember to check your route to the Sevington Inland Border Facility, near Ashford, to avoid incorrectly detouring through the nearby village of Mersham.
