Government Business Grants Update 

Received from MSDC on Thursday 2nd April:

I want to update you and your members on the Business Grants and how Mid Sussex DC will pay qualifying businesses, as well as ask you to promote any business that believes they qualify to register for the grants.

We have set up a website at www.GrantApproval.co.uk for local businesses to register – which needs to be in the personal name of the business owner. If you qualify for a number of grants you only need to register once. We will ask you when registering to put some details in including an email address. We will then email all businesses registered, early next week by the latest, advising them to complete the information required.  We are planning to pay all qualifying businesses – albeit there will be certain checks we have to do as part of the process to protect public funds – week commencing 6th April 2020 provided all the information required has been given.

Step 1 is to get registered at www.GrantApproval.co.uk with their email address. More information about how to proceed and what information is required will come later when we are in a position to process the grants.

Letters are going out to local businesses who we believe may qualify from today, but we are conscious that a number of businesses are closed so any help you can give to promote this will be very much appreciated. We will also be updating our website and putting numerous messages on social media.

The latest version, and hopefully the final guidance, was received from the Government yesterday (it has been changed a number of times). For your information, and to try and be transparent to all local businesses, I have given below both the Guidance Link for Local Authorities and for Businesses.
