BHBPA working with our local Secondary School, The Burgess Hill Academy (TBHA) Many of you are aware of the change that will be taking place at TBHA, which will be transferring to a new Academy Trust, the identity of and timing for which are as yet unknown. At this critical juncture, the school needs our help. We have met many of their dedicated staff and fantastic students and they are all working hard to improve the opportunities for our future employees. Many of our members have generously donated laptops, printers and other resources which are making a positive impact – they are so grateful to you. Would you also like to support this school? Are you in a position to help with the following: £300 per term (£900 for the year) to sponsor a termly cinema event for 250 students per term to reward them for excellent behaviour and hard work? £200 per half term (£400 per term/£1,200 for the year) for 25 students each half term to attend a Rewards Breakfast event for excellent behaviour and hard work? The school library needs refurbishment. Could you support the purchase of new books by committing to provide £20 per book for as many books as you would like to finance? The inside of each book would include a sticker to record your support. If you can help with any of these, please contact Linda Dorgan l.dorgan@theburgesshillacademy.org.uk Alternatively, their Parent Teacher and Friends Association are always in need of support for their fund raising activities. If any of your employees could give their time and expertise to supporting this hard working group, or if you would be able to support by providing refreshments or raffle prizes for events please contact Heather Larcombe h.larcombe@theburgesshillacademy.org.uk Further updates over the next few months We will continue to provide updates on the difference that your support is making to our local students. BHBPA member, Edwards Vacuum responded to a request for help from The Burgess Hill Academy F24 Car Club (an extra-curricular club run by Mr Burdass). We were overwhelmed by the generosity of Edwards Vacuum in providing a 14 piece spanner set and a 9 piece L Shape Metric Hex Key Set. Students participating in this after-school club were delighted to welcome Beth, Tony and Harry from Edwards Vacuum to one of their sessions and enthusiastically showed them the progress that they have made with building the car. Future engineers in the making! We are so grateful for the support from Edwards Vacuum. ![]() Beth, Tony and Harry from Edwards Vacuum ![]() ![]() ![]() |
