Bennett Christmas lived up its name this month by hosting a Festive Bake Off and raising funds for charity at the same time.
During December 18 members of staff from the Burgess Hill-based insurance group battled it out to win the title and take home the golden spoon.
Taking on the role of judge for the final this week was Burgess-Hill master baker, Mia Taggart, better known as The Little Cake Fairy who has supplied cakes to Zoe Ball and Dame Vera Lynn among other celebrities.
The finalists presented their signature bakes for Mia Taggart who with the help of two of her children sampled the bakes and declared Debbie Etherington, a commercial account handler, the winner. She was presented with the coveted title and a £50 voucher. Runners up were Alex Brakell and Andy Smith.
“It was really good fun and the whole firm joined in even if they didn’t actually bake. This is something we’ll be keen to repeat next year and you never know, we might have a lot more entries. The Festive Bake-Off also raised more than £100 for St Peter & St James Hospice”, said CEO, Mark Bennett.
