Exhibition Success for MSDC

Earlier this week MSDC held their annual exhibition, this time at The King’s Centre in Victoria Road.  This year they changed the theme to an extremely up to date one and called it “Digital & You”.

When I arrived to set up the BHBPA stand at 10.45 the place was already buzzing with activity and so it continued for the rest of the day. It was pleasant for me to know so many people coming round to look at what was on offer, as it made the day go by more quickly.

There were seven seminars during the day, on topics such as cloud accounting, search engine optimisation, apps for work and email marketing, and these were very well attended. Perhaps that is unsurprising, as the people presenting were from some internationally famous brand names eg Google, and some locally successful ones, such as Rocketmill and Pure 360. Suffice to say that I didn’t go to many seminars, as I had the stand to look after, and I couldn’t find much interest there.  For certain a lot of people did. I concentrated on networking and eating, for which endeavours I am much better suited!

With Paul Noble working hard all day on filming the whole thing and Gordon Reay making being in charge look easy, the day seemed to me to be a very successful one. I may have snaffled another couple of members for the BHBPA, and I was also able to establish beyond all doubt that I am ancient, as most of the technical guys there in sneakers and faded jeans looked to be still in their mid-teens! And to think I had thought I might be trendy by leaving my tie at home …!
