I have just completed a Dementia Champions session which equips me to give an information session on dementia to interested people. I would be happy to deliver these one hour sessions to members of BHBPA and their staff as part of the Councils efforts to make Burgess Hill a Dementia Friendly town. The Help Point is a Dementia Haven where people who find themselves lost or confused can come or be directed to for assistance. Could you please put something like the following out in your newsletter?
The Town Council is keen to make Burgess Hill a Dementia Friendly town and is offering free Dementia Friends information sessions to businesses in the town. One in fourteen people over sixty has dementia though it does not only affect older people. Dementia Friends is a social action movement which aims to increase understanding of dementia and inspire people to take action to support people affected by dementia in their community. Sessions last 1 hour and can be given to up to 10 people at a time. If you are interested in either organising a session for your staff or attending a session please contact Steve Cridland steve@burgesshill.gov.uk
Many thanks
Steve
