I had a very useful and informative meeting with Richard Andrew, of Hargreaves. Hargreaves are members of BHBPA and are long standing, major commercial property investors and developers in Burgess Hill.
Richard explained to me that Hargreaves have now decided to not proceed with developing the 55,000 sq. ft headquarters building, referred to as Centrepoint, at their vacant site on Victoria Road, due to there being a range of alternative buildings already built and available within the A23 corridor, including Crawley.
Rather, Hargreaves are looking at speculatively building an alternative scheme of 9 smaller units on the same site. Of course, this will be subject to planning permission, and then construction work, but as a guide the new capacity may be ready from Q3 2021.
