Apart from our normal services providing secure destruction for data on all types of different media, we also use our depot as a local recycler for a range of materials.
We have noticed that a lot of our customers have become quite disgruntled with the ever increasing costs of having their commercial waste removed from their premises, and often when you see what the big 1100 litres bins hold, it’s often cardboard, waste paper or plastics. Charges are based on bin hire, plus number of ‘bin-lifts’ and optimised in favour of the big waste management companies, even if half empty, the charge is still 100% each visit.
We have been working with a number of our local customers, who now separate out cardboard, paper and clear polyethylene packaging wastes and just drop them off to us at the depot where we will ensure they are 100% recycled, completely free of charge.
This only works for those businesses I feel that are within about 10-15 miles, and of course can store the materials until such time as they can drop them off to us, but it is becoming increasingly popular.
This isn’t an option for businesses that need collections very regularly from their own premises, but does benefit a lot of SME’s, who drop in when passing and can save hundreds of pounds a year on having a bin.
If any BHBPA members would like to explore whether we can help them, and to know how the drop off system works they need to drop me, or Mike Easton (Copied in) a line and we’ll see what we can do.
We have produced a simple leaflet that will be going out to businesses in that 10 miles radius over the coming weeks, which BHBPA members could download, if you are so inclined as to include this in any possible post in the newsletter
let me know if you need any further information and whether it would be of interest,
