Earlier this week the latest BHBPA event took place at the Birch Hotel in Haywards Heath. On a cold but bright morning around thirty members and friends turned up to hear a presentation on cyber crime and to do some sharp early day networking with like minded people.
Breakfast, including much needed teas and coffees, was generously supplied by the staff of the hotel, and for a full 40 minutes the buzz of networking was to be heard in the Sussex Room. At around 8.45 David Christmas spoke on the subject of cyber crime, giving us details of online scams, details of methods of avoiding becoming a victim and how insurance policies may be of help before it happens.
After the presentation there followed a lively question session in which many ideas were exchanged. As a result of the session those who were there would certainly have benefited from the knowledge gained.
It was very interesting, as ever, for me to meet a couple of new members, who included Victoria Thomson from the HR Department, recent new member Sam Norgate and potential new member Niki Smyth from Cuckfield Golf Centre. I hope they were all made to feel welcome by the members present.
Our thanks as ever go to the staff and management of the Birch Hotel for hosting the event. Many thanks, too, to David Christmas for coming along to deliver an interesting presentation.
