Senior cricket
Tables – Fixtures
First XI – The 1s had a tough game against Chichester Priory Park with Dan Rapson’s 5 wickets being the highlight – Scorecard
Second XI – An inexperienced young team lost to Buxted Park in a close encounter – Scorecard & Report.
Third XI – The 3s played Preston Nomads but again came off second best against an older and more experienced team, although Niall Murphy starred taking 4 wickets – Scorecard.
Fourth XI – Like the 3s this was a young team with several lads making their adult debuts. The game was a challenge which they rose to and gave another good account of themselves – Scorecard

Youth cricket
Boys Under 15 – won a thrilling game against St Peters this week. Hill batted first and scored 90 in the allotted 16 overs. St Peters were keeping up with the run rate but lost a few quick wickets to finish on 77 for 9. Report
Girls Under 15 – comfortably won, also against St Peters, this week. St Peters batting first scored 86 for 6. However a storming response from our girls resulted in this score being overtaken without the loss of any wickets Report & Scorecard
Boys Under 13 – The boys have won 3 out of 3 and the rain last Monday was unable to dampen their spirits – Report & Scorecard
Girls Under 13 – Two wins over their fiercest rivals Ansty at the weekend – Report & Scorecard
Boys Under 12 – The boys have had a couple of games since our last newsletter – Report
Girls Under 11 – A wonderful performance at the Sussex Lady Taverners tournament held in St John’s Park where our girls were County runners up – Report

Boys Under 9 – had only their second ever game against Henfield and lost in the last over by just a few runs. A really competitive and very enjoyable game for all the young players. Detailed report next week.

Off the pitch
We are now well into the season and would be grateful if all members and parents could settle their subscriptions as soon as possible. We would like to have all these collected by the end of this month. The club has to settle many of its annual running costs in advance so payment of subscriptions would be appreciated.
Bar
As from this Friday our bar will be able to take card payments both chip and pin and contact less, for any purchases In addition match fees and annual subscriptions can also be settled through this system.
All Stars Cricket
For 5 – 8 year olds who have never played cricket before the ECB have launched a new initiative to get youngsters interested in playing cricket. If you know of any youngster who would be interested in joining in, ask them to come along to St John’s Park this coming Friday at 4.30 pm. We have dozens of new participants coming along.
