| We’d like to thank the whole Bio-Productions team for putting on such a great show on Wednesday this week. All the staff on the factory floor were approachable but very focussed on their roles. Many of the rest of the team were all on hand, with sales and HR managers chatting with our guests as well. Angela Gill, the MD of the company, explained how they export almost everywhere in the world. She explained the origins of a company that has led the way in producing cleaning products that do not contain harmful cleaning agents. Their products work using enzymes to break down all manner of stain conundrums. Fo example, the humble orange peel becomes a powerful degreasing agent, able to remove tar stains. That’s their Orange Squirtproduct, which we were all given as a gift. There was quite some laughter as Angela explained how their products clean up all the nasties in poo, pee and vomit. Used by all manner of public sector services, such as hospitals and the police. Angela then gave an impassioned talk about the awards her team and her business have won over the years. Perhaps most poignantly, she explained how the whole process of entering the BHBPA awards has focussed her on what their people do in the business. A moment for recognition and appreciation of the Bio-Productions ‘family’. She spoke of entries she’s prepared and how she’d really thought hard and long about what certain individuals bring to the team, and how certain teams really punch way above what they’re expected to do. A previous recipient of the Star Apprentice award in 2019, their Operations Manager, Chris Freeman, had moved over to the company after a career in IT, joining as a management apprentice. We met Chris later on the factory tour. ![]() Another excellent turnout for our event, including several owners of some of our larger businesses, keen to see what goes on inside Bio-Productions |

![]() Most UK supplies of the humble urinal block are made in Burgess Hill Chris Freeman, the Operations Manager, gave us a detailed tour of the facility. In the photo above, we are with the second tour that went round the factory. Also on hand Adelphi Group to explain more about the machinery in use. This local firm manufactures quite a few of the machines on the production lines of the various products made in the Bio-Productions factory and have used it as a prototyping facility for some of their mixing, filling and bottling lines of equipment. Fascinating to hear about the multiple manufacturing lines in place. When we arrived in the labelling department, some significant new machinery had been added since we last visited the site five years ago. The company no longer stocks large volumes of bought-in labels which can quickly become redundant. Instead, they can react quickly to changing clients needs, even during a product run, in order to update packaging requirements. |

| Chris mentioned the issues surrounding compliance. This was something mentioned at last week’s business briefing with our local MP Alison Bennett. Let us know if you too feel we need to review how the UK creates and implements regulatory affairs of any description. |
