Received from MSDC on Friday 25th September.
Let’s hope that this is never needed in Mid Sussex but please note that if we go into a local lockdown – it may be part or all of our district – there is another business grant system with the attached guidelines published last night. LINK to guidelines.
We at Mid Sussex DC already have processes in place including an online system should it ever be needed (we would hit the ground running) and of course if we enter a local lockdown I will communicate again.
Please also note that whilst the COVID19 Business and Discretionary Grants have closed the Business Rates Reliefs and Discounts such as for the Retail, Hospitality and Leisure Sector offering a 100% payment holiday in 20/21 are still available. If any business is in doubt about if we can help please do let me know. I would rather we were asked than businesses went without the help that we could give them
Please do let me know if you need any additional information or clarification. I am of course more than happy to discuss further
Thank you so much for all your help and support

"The BHBPA is an energetic and vocal organisation that connects and empowers and informs the local business community acting as an effective conduit to local authority and other organisations. We are proud to be part of that community and the association."
"As MP for Mid Sussex I believe passionately in the importance of a vibrant local business community in order to create and sustain fantastic opportunities that enable people to meet their responsibilities, prosper and fulfil their potential. I am committed to collaborating with BHBPA and others to be an effective collective voice for Burgess Hill."
"This association was started with a lot of effort from a few local businessmen and has proved to be a very powerful and useful tool for our business. The BHBPA has influence at the top level; when action is needed, the BHBPA gets it done. We are kept in touch with all that is happening on our doorstep and will often act because of what is published in the weekly emails / newsletters."
"As the local hospice for the area, it’s great that we receive so much support from the BHBPA. Last year the members raised an amazing £2150 through activities such as Bake Off and the BHBiz Awards. Each well planned members meeting enables good networking opportunities and speakers that are relevant to the present climate and local issues. We are proud to be members of BHBPA."
