On 31st January 2020, Sutton Winson completed the purchase of Flexible Health Insurance Brokers Limited, an independent Health and Protection brokerage, based in Edenbridge, Kent.
The acquisition comes as Sutton Winson look to open up their Private Medical Insurance offering to individuals and their families. Since 2006, the team at Flexible Health have been providing expert advice to both individuals and businesses alike and will continue to do so, alongside Sutton Winson’s specialist Health and Protection team.
“This is an exciting opportunity for Flexible Health and all our clients” explains David Clare, Founder and Managing Director of Flexible Health Insurance Brokers Limited. “By becoming a subsidiary of Sutton Winson, it gives us the ability to offer both our individual and business customers a wide range of other insurance products that best suit their needs, whilst we benefit from the support of a larger company”.
David Thomson, Managing Director of Sutton Winson also commented;
“Our core strategy at Sutton Winson still remains the same; continuing to grow organically through the cross-selling and referrals of insurance products and services. Up until now, our Health and Protection proposition has primarily focused on offering private medical insurance and group protection solutions for businesses here in the UK, and Internationally. However, through the acquisition of Flexible Health, it now means that with their expertise, we can provide private medical cover options for individuals and their loved ones.
As well as both our customer bases benefiting from more options of additional insurances, the other reason why we decided to work with Flexible Health is because of the common values we both share. We are both passionate about helping our clients achieve their goals, by taking an ethical and straightforward approach when providing them with expert advice”.

"As MP for Mid Sussex I believe passionately in the importance of a vibrant local business community in order to create and sustain fantastic opportunities that enable people to meet their responsibilities, prosper and fulfil their potential. I am committed to collaborating with BHBPA and others to be an effective collective voice for Burgess Hill."
"“I can’t speak highly enough of the BHBPA. As a small local business we feel very much part of a community and thoroughly enjoy the annual exhibition and meetings throughout the year. Over the years we have built fantastic working relationships with many BHBPA members and every meeting and event offers us opportunities to work with more. This is networking at its best! ” "
"The BHBPA is an energetic and vocal organisation that connects and empowers and informs the local business community acting as an effective conduit to local authority and other organisations. We are proud to be part of that community and the association."
"“I have belonged to this group since I started my own business, Lea Graham Associates, in 1986. The association has been through several incarnations since then, but its most recent one, BHBPA, is by far the best.
It’s much more than just a networking group, although it is supremely good at that too. BHBPA is inclusive and friendly and acts like a mutual-support society. The events are stimulating, worthwhile and often great fun and I believe most members share this opinion.”"
