News: Follow up on local business support services

Posted on 20th February 2020

Following the presentation given at the 11th February BHBPA meeting by Richard Butcher, Acting Partnership Manager & Growth Champion for the Coast to Capital Growth Hub, we thought it would be useful to share some information and contact details with members on our web site.

C2C’s services include capital grants, business diagnostics and signposting, support from subject experts and an escalator programme for growing businesses.

Here is a link to the C2C website, where there is a phone number and a contact form  https://www.coast2capital.org.uk/growth-hub/ Richard Butcher is also perfectly happy for people to contact him in the first instance by email at Rbutcher211@gmail.com or 077251 72027.

Another point to realise is that BHBPA member Carolyn Bentley of CB Trade Support has for the past year been working as a freelance consultant on International Trade following many years as an International Trade Adviser for the Department of International Trade (perhaps better known to some by its previous name UKTI). Her website is www.cbtradesupport.co.uk mobile no 07713 085371. CB Trade Support is largely focused on supporting businesses across the county.

Like Richard, Carolyn is a Growth Champion Consultant for Coast to Capital and is well connected with most organisations offering support to local SMEs.

Testimonials

"I am delighted to have a long-standing relationship with the BHBPA. Since its foundation the Association has gone from strength to strength and there is no doubt that it has brought huge benefits to its members and the business community as a whole through the partnerships it has formed with the local authorities, Sussex Police and local organisations. It is paramount that Burgess Hill businesses have an effective collective voice."

The Hon Nicholas Soames MP

"As the local hospice for the area, it’s great that we receive so much support from the BHBPA. Last year the members raised an amazing £2150 through activities such as Bake Off and the BHBiz Awards. Each well planned members meeting enables good networking opportunities and speakers that are relevant to the present climate and local issues. We are proud to be members of BHBPA."

Wendy Agate, Community Fund Raising Manager
(St Peter & St James Hospice)

"The BHBPA is an energetic and vocal organisation that connects and empowers and informs the local business community acting as an effective conduit to local authority and other organisations. We are proud to be part of that community and the association."

Nick Broom, Managing Director
(PVL UK Ltd)

"If Carlsberg did networking they would do it the BHBPA way. Each event is packed with great ideas, thought provoking presentations and fun. As a small business we feel supported and part of the community. We have built friendships and business relationships and there is always plenty of advice on hand to benefit us all so don’t hesitate to join whatever the nature of your business. "
