News: How many blue whales?

Posted on 13th December 2019

It’s been another busy year at BIO Productions ( says Angela Gill.

So far in 2019, we have filled 255,348 x 5L bottles – that’s 1,276,740L of product to be precise, or roughly 1.3 million litres. Or if you prefer, that’s enough to fill 3.6 million tea cups, 2.25 million pints of beer, or 16,000 baths.

That’s a lot of liquid, and heavy too. Because 1 litre of water weighs 1 kg, it means we have produced the equivalent weight of 319,185 cats, 1,702 cows, or 365 Indian elephants (after all African elephants are bigger!

And by the way, if you hadn’t guessed – that’s equivalent to 10.6 blue whales.

"This association was started with a lot of effort from a few local businessmen and has proved to be a very powerful and useful tool for our business. The BHBPA has influence at the top level; when action is needed, the BHBPA gets it done. We are kept in touch with all that is happening on our doorstep and will often act because of what is published in the weekly emails / newsletters."

"“I have belonged to this group since I started my own business, Lea Graham Associates, in 1986. The association has been through several incarnations since then, but its most recent one, BHBPA, is by far the best.

It’s much more than just a networking group, although it is supremely good at that too. BHBPA is inclusive and friendly and acts like a mutual-support society. The events are stimulating, worthwhile and often great fun and I believe most members share this opinion.”"

"“I can’t speak highly enough of the BHBPA. As a small local business we feel very much part of a community and thoroughly enjoy the annual exhibition and meetings throughout the year. Over the years we have built fantastic working relationships with many BHBPA members and every meeting and event offers us opportunities to work with more. This is networking at its best! ” "

"As the local hospice for the area, it’s great that we receive so much support from the BHBPA. Last year the members raised an amazing £2150 through activities such as Bake Off and the BHBiz Awards. Each well planned members meeting enables good networking opportunities and speakers that are relevant to the present climate and local issues. We are proud to be members of BHBPA."
