Please welcome Martyn Carr
On behalf of the BHBPA board of directors, I am delighted to announce the appointment of Martyn Carr who will take over the duties of Peter Liddell with effect from the beginning of January.
David, Jaffer and I all feel Martyn brings a blend of business experience and interests that will be ideal to meet the evolving needs of our association, while respecting the significant strides we have already taken.
Martyn’s CV is both deep and wide having held roles in Procurement, IT, Credit, Business Operations, Product Development, Supplier Management, Compliance and Consulting. He has worked with major brands including American Express, Legal & General, Thomas Cook, Sainsburys and EMI as well with not-for-profit organisations like the Royal College of GPs.
In recent times Martyn has been providing executive coaching services, mainly to SME businesses, having completed a Master’s degree several years ago, although he will now be putting this aspect of his work to one side as he focuses on BHBPA.
Martyn lives locally in Burgess Hill and recently became the proud grandfather to two beautiful granddaughters.
I am confident all members will find Martyn’s style to be collaborative and that he’ll be keen to support members as we work on issues of common interest across the BHBPA.
Please join me in welcoming Martyn and helping him to feel at home quickly.
Susan Fleet, Chair
"“I can’t speak highly enough of the BHBPA. As a small local business we feel very much part of a community and thoroughly enjoy the annual exhibition and meetings throughout the year. Over the years we have built fantastic working relationships with many BHBPA members and every meeting and event offers us opportunities to work with more. This is networking at its best! ” "
"“I have belonged to this group since I started my own business, Lea Graham Associates, in 1986. The association has been through several incarnations since then, but its most recent one, BHBPA, is by far the best.
It’s much more than just a networking group, although it is supremely good at that too. BHBPA is inclusive and friendly and acts like a mutual-support society. The events are stimulating, worthwhile and often great fun and I believe most members share this opinion.”"
"“We have been members of BHBPA from its inception, and seen the organisation steadily grow and expand into the dynamic entity it is today, bringing positive benefits to all its members.""
"If Carlsberg did networking they would do it the BHBPA way. Each event is packed with great ideas, thought provoking presentations and fun. As a small business we feel supported and part of the community. We have built friendships and business relationships and there is always plenty of advice on hand to benefit us all so don’t hesitate to join whatever the nature of your business. "
