Top Tier Team Get Up Close and Personal with Workings of
Burgess Hill Town Mayor, Cllr Roger Cartwright, Leader Cllr Robert Egglestone and Deputy Leader Cllr Joe Foster paid a visit to Burgess Hill based manufacturer of environmentally-friendly cleaning products, Bio-Productions, on Thursday (18 July).
Accompanied by the company’s Managing Director, Angela Gill, the special visitors were given a tour of the company’s HQ on the Victoria Business Park, where they had the chance to see the factory’s production line first-hand. They took in the whole site from the offices and boardroom (where unusually, two urinals grace the wall, in reference to the company’s place as one of the leading manufacturers of toilet blocks), through the laboratory, research & development and wet and dry production to labelling, packaging and the warehouse.
Throughout the visit, Angela and Operations Director, Phil Karn, showcased the diverse products that make up the Bio-Productions catalogue, which has significantly expanded since business began in 1984.
Angela Gill said: “It was a pleasure to showcase our company to the Council‘s top representatives. We are proud of our team here in Burgess Hill from where we manufacture and export our biological solutions globally. Our aim is to encourage local businesses, restaurants and schools to become greener and support local industry.”
The visit was also an opportunity to acknowledge the organisation’s recent successes. Business has been booming lately and Bio-Productions products are now shipped as far afield as Australia, India, South Korea and throughout Europe. China and Qatar have also recently come aboard and Canada is currently trialling the products.
This innovative company, with faultless business acumen and community-based ethics plays an important role in the business community. The team has recently won two awards at the BHBiz Awards and were also shortlisted for two awards at the Gatwick Diamond Business Awards earlier this year. With philanthropy running through its production line, Bio-Productions are often at the heart of charity fundraising too. The organisation’s environmental ethos underpins everything, from product conception and testing to staff welfare, emotional and physical and its values revolve around quality, integrity, authenticity, genuine customer service and approachability.
Cllr Robert Eggleston, Leader of Burgess Hill Town Council said, “The town is fortunate to have such an innovative company like Bio Productions providing and marketing leading, environmentally friendly products around the world. The company has made us think hard about how we can use public procurement to bring more environmentally friendly products into facilities and to a wider audience. We understand that the company wants to expand and, as town councillors, we want to use what influence we can to help them realise their ambitions for their business.”

"“Sutton Winson have been members of the BHBPA for around 7 years. We have found it a great way to keep in touch with Burgess Hill businesses and to meet with likeminded people. It’s not just another “networking” group, as it tackles the real issues and gets things done”"
"If Carlsberg did networking they would do it the BHBPA way. Each event is packed with great ideas, thought provoking presentations and fun. As a small business we feel supported and part of the community. We have built friendships and business relationships and there is always plenty of advice on hand to benefit us all so don’t hesitate to join whatever the nature of your business. "
"“We have been members of BHBPA from its inception, and seen the organisation steadily grow and expand into the dynamic entity it is today, bringing positive benefits to all its members.""
"The BHBPA is an energetic and vocal organisation that connects and empowers and informs the local business community acting as an effective conduit to local authority and other organisations. We are proud to be part of that community and the association."
