News: Bluelite in Wacky Rally

Posted on 4th July 2019

Hello Peter

I trust you are well and enjoying this glorious weather.

Bluelite is participating in the Wacky Rally Barmy to Barcelona 2019.  The object is to buy an old banger for under £ 300 and drive it across 9 countries gaining points for challenges as you go.  I think it is something like the Top Gear challenges.

The route is 1500 miles, through one of the Alps highest passes, French Riviera, Costa Brava and finally ending in Barcelona, where they leave the car.

Steve and John have gone in the attached vehicle (you also had to custom it and they are dressing up as well – more points J) no air conditioning!!!  There is around 65 cars taking part, festivals organised and accommodation, so all being well it should be great fun.

We do hope to see them back next week, they do not have a plan B so it could be a long walk to Barcelona if they break down.  It is just a little bit of fun – I hope!

Maybe next year there might be a few from the Business Park that would want to join us.

I will let you know how they got on – there are prizes for the winner.

Kind regards

"If Carlsberg did networking they would do it the BHBPA way. Each event is packed with great ideas, thought provoking presentations and fun. As a small business we feel supported and part of the community. We have built friendships and business relationships and there is always plenty of advice on hand to benefit us all so don’t hesitate to join whatever the nature of your business. "

Angela Gill, Managing Director
(Bio Productions Ltd)

"As the local hospice for the area, it’s great that we receive so much support from the BHBPA. Last year the members raised an amazing £2150 through activities such as Bake Off and the BHBiz Awards. Each well planned members meeting enables good networking opportunities and speakers that are relevant to the present climate and local issues. We are proud to be members of BHBPA."

Wendy Agate, Community Fund Raising Manager
(St Peter & St James Hospice)

"“We have been members of BHBPA from its inception, and seen the organisation steadily grow and expand into the dynamic entity it is today, bringing positive benefits to all its members.""

Peter Hook, Manager
(Computer Systems Engineers)

"“I can’t speak highly enough of the BHBPA. As a small local business we feel very much part of a community and thoroughly enjoy the annual exhibition and meetings throughout the year. Over the years we have built fantastic working relationships with many BHBPA members and every meeting and event offers us opportunities to work with more. This is networking at its best! ” "
