News: Aspire Needs Trustees

Aspire Sussex Ltd is the charity which has been running adult and community education in and beyond West Sussex since 2012.

 

We wish to appoint new Trustees and would be particularly interested in applications from individuals with a Legal, Marketing or Finance background.  As a Trustee you will be responsible as part of the Board for the overall governance and strategic direction of the charity.  Board and sub-committee meetings are usually held in Burgess Hill, but may be held at any of our Centres in West Sussex.  The time commitment is approximately 50 hours per year, which includes attending around 15 meetings per year.

 

We also wish to appoint new Company Members.   Our Members are a significant part of our governance system, and highly valued for their external perspective.  Our Members come from all walks of life and bring a broad range of skills, experience and background to Aspire. Members are invited to attend and vote at Aspire’s Annual General Meeting. Their role includes the scrutiny of the Annual Report and Accounts and the election of Trustees. Some Members will have a general overall interest in Aspire and others will be prepared to act in an advisory capacity.  The time commitment is around 2-3 days per year.

 

Please note that these roles are unpaid, although expenses such as travel are reimbursed.
