News: FR supports Food Bank

Posted on 22nd May 2019

Every Friday for the past 6 months, the employees at First Recruitment Services Haywards Heath branch, have been partaking in a ‘Dress Down Friday.’ The proceeds raised by this were then donated to their chosen charity, The Trussell Trust Foodbank.
The Trussell Trust Foodbank provides emergency food and advice to those who are living below the poverty line in the UK. Their aim is to provide a minimum of three days nutritionally balanced emergency food and supplies to individuals and families who have been referred due to the critical nature of their situation. As well as providing food, the volunteers also offer advice and try to resolve the crisis they face.
The money raised by First Recruitment Services was used to purchase a variety of food and everyday essential items, which once donated and weighed at the charities warehouse came to a whopping 27kgs!! As you can see from the photo Lauren, Mark and Lisa, had a great time dropping off the food. This is a truly wonderful charity to donate to.

Testimonials

"As the local hospice for the area, it’s great that we receive so much support from the BHBPA. Last year the members raised an amazing £2150 through activities such as Bake Off and the BHBiz Awards. Each well planned members meeting enables good networking opportunities and speakers that are relevant to the present climate and local issues. We are proud to be members of BHBPA."

Wendy Agate, Community Fund Raising Manager
(St Peter & St James Hospice)

"The BHBPA is a fantastic hub for our business community to get together and catch up, discuss important local issues and connect new and interesting enterprises."

Oliver Lashley , Director

"As MP for Mid Sussex I believe passionately in the importance of a vibrant local business community in order to create and sustain fantastic opportunities that enable people to meet their responsibilities, prosper and fulfil their potential. I am committed to collaborating with BHBPA and others to be an effective collective voice for Burgess Hill."

Mims Davies MP, Member of Parliament for Mid Sussex

"This association was started with a lot of effort from a few local businessmen and has proved to be a very powerful and useful tool for our business. The BHBPA has influence at the top level; when action is needed, the BHBPA gets it done. We are kept in touch with all that is happening on our doorstep and will often act because of what is published in the weekly emails / newsletters."
