News: Jaffer is New Director

Jaffer began working life in the agriculture industry before branching out to be a management consultant. He became a UK director of Burson Marsteller working with clients who were dealing with market positioning in advertising campaigns.

He left the corporate world in 1989 and took the bold step of setting up as an independent management consultant specialising in company culture. In the late 90s he became fascinated by potential of internet, and as a consequence E-mpower IT was born. He soon broadened it to include IT support and all things web related. His enterprise ended up supporting the IT infrastructure of 50% of W Sussex GPs and as a result he achieved a long term contract doing the same with the NHS.

Now, E-mpower supports ambitious companies, some of which have now grown to multi million pound businesses yet still use E-mpower for their IT support. Jaffer believes that strong customer service is the key to lasting client relationships.

His company is now in its 20th year in Burgess Hill and they have been members of the BHBPA since 2010, when they moved into offices in Victoria Road. He found the BHBPA to be vibrant, friendly and welcoming, with the best interests of business at its heart. He enjoys the weekly newsletter which he says is informative and yet amusing.  He looks forward to his new role as a Director as it gives him a chance to contribute and to give something back to the community.

In his younger days he was a keen skier and he still enjoys sailing, but only in the warm Mediterranean. He is a cyclist and a runner too; in 2012 he ran a marathon in support of St Peter & St James Hospice.
