News: BH Academy Networking – Volunteers wanted

Posted on 17th January 2019

Request for volunteers for Speed Networking at The Burgess Hill Academy Once again in order to assist our Year 9 students in choosing their GCSE options, the Academy will be hosting a Speed Networking Event on Thursday 7th March 2019. The event will start with a 30 minute networking breakfast at 8.15am, followed by two one hour sessions 8.50am to 9.50am and 9.50am to 10.50am. Students will be in groups of 3/4 and they will spend 5 minutes asking questions of the volunteers followed by 5 minutes finding out about the volunteers’ job. During each hour long session, I would anticipate that all volunteers will talk to at least 5 groups of students. I am hoping that you or someone else in your organisation will be able to spare some time to come along and assist in this event. Students really do find it very useful to find out about different jobs and the qualifications needed to get there. If you are able to assist, please contact me at ldorgan@tbha.org.uk.

Testimonials

"As MP for Mid Sussex I believe passionately in the importance of a vibrant local business community in order to create and sustain fantastic opportunities that enable people to meet their responsibilities, prosper and fulfil their potential. I am committed to collaborating with BHBPA and others to be an effective collective voice for Burgess Hill."

Mims Davies MP, Member of Parliament for Mid Sussex

"The BHBPA is an energetic and vocal organisation that connects and empowers and informs the local business community acting as an effective conduit to local authority and other organisations. We are proud to be part of that community and the association."

Nick Broom, Managing Director
(PVL UK Ltd)

"The BHBPA is the most effective and dynamic business organisation I have ever worked with in over 30 years in Local Government. It has a very active and large membership whose points of view are taken seriously by all government structures. Peter Liddell does an excellent job in providing unique and enjoyable networking opportunities where members interact and discuss points of mutual interest. It provides a forum for businesses to discuss common issues, to share experiences and to play a powerful and meaningful role in the Burgess Hill community. The BHBPA provides important and credible support for all its members and ensures that their best interests are represented where necessary. "

Steve Cridland, CEO
(Burgess Hill Town Council)

"As the local hospice for the area, it’s great that we receive so much support from the BHBPA. Last year the members raised an amazing £2150 through activities such as Bake Off and the BHBiz Awards. Each well planned members meeting enables good networking opportunities and speakers that are relevant to the present climate and local issues. We are proud to be members of BHBPA."

Wendy Agate, Community Fund Raising Manager
(St Peter & St James Hospice)
