Yesterday I spent a useful but tiring five hours networking at the South of England Showground. It was an exhibition, one of many put together in slick fashion by Sonny Cutting, the owner of BHBPA member Sussex Pages. One has to wonder at this guy and his energy in tirelessly working to bring businesses together in such a well organised way.
This one had a golf theme, and there were at various places in the hall people trying out their indoor putting or gazing with marvel at the 9-hole course constructed entirely in cake! Unsurprisingly, the Brighton Cakes stand won a prize at the end of the afternoon.
It was a pleasure, as always, to meet up with BHBPA members, and among others I saw BBA Couriers, Fresh Display, Hickstead Hotel, Blackman Terry, BH Radio, Press Start to Join, Beacon Security, CT Sussex, Sussex Chamber of Commerce and Basepoint there. Indeed, I might not have coped were it not for regular visits to HH stand to sample the cake on offer there.
All in all, as exhibitions go, this was a great success I reckon, with lots of networrking going on and a good feeling among the standholders. Sonny’s organisation proved to be exemplary, and of course the venue has the benefit of more than enough parking places. Sonny confided to me that his business is growing and that next time he will have double the number of stands for this event, which he calls his flagship. 200 stand will be something to behold, but you wouldn’t put it past him to get it done.
"The BHBPA is the most effective and dynamic business organisation I have ever worked with in over 30 years in Local Government. It has a very active and large membership whose points of view are taken seriously by all government structures. Peter Liddell does an excellent job in providing unique and enjoyable networking opportunities where members interact and discuss points of mutual interest. It provides a forum for businesses to discuss common issues, to share experiences and to play a powerful and meaningful role in the Burgess Hill community. The BHBPA provides important and credible support for all its members and ensures that their best interests are represented where necessary. "
"If Carlsberg did networking they would do it the BHBPA way. Each event is packed with great ideas, thought provoking presentations and fun. As a small business we feel supported and part of the community. We have built friendships and business relationships and there is always plenty of advice on hand to benefit us all so don’t hesitate to join whatever the nature of your business. "
""BHBPA is a really well organised and run group, great for networking and benefitting from knowledgeable local speakers with real business insight. Peter brings enthusiasm and humour which helps drive the association forward. I am glad to be part of it.""
"“We have been members of BHBPA from its inception, and seen the organisation steadily grow and expand into the dynamic entity it is today, bringing positive benefits to all its members.""
