The Burgess Hill Academy in association with Burgess Hill Business Parks were proud to present their Work Experience Student of the Year Award during their Post 16 Information Evening on 20th September.
Over 100 Year 10 students were placed in companies within Sussex and the surrounding area, some even travelled up to London. In order to qualify for the award, students needed to have an outstanding report from their employer. They were then asked to complete a presentation explaining how they had benefitted from work experience.
The winner, Ellie spent her week at Pets at Home in Burgess Hill where she made the most of the opportunity afforded to her and gained valuable experience. Steve Willis from Steve Willis Training presented the trophy and prizes to the top four students on behalf of the Burgess Hill Business Parks Association. We at The Burgess Hill Academy are extremely grateful for the time that local businesses are able to give to help our students understand the working world.
"“We have been members of BHBPA from its inception, and seen the organisation steadily grow and expand into the dynamic entity it is today, bringing positive benefits to all its members.""
"The BHBPA is an energetic and vocal organisation that connects and empowers and informs the local business community acting as an effective conduit to local authority and other organisations. We are proud to be part of that community and the association."
"If Carlsberg did networking they would do it the BHBPA way. Each event is packed with great ideas, thought provoking presentations and fun. As a small business we feel supported and part of the community. We have built friendships and business relationships and there is always plenty of advice on hand to benefit us all so don’t hesitate to join whatever the nature of your business. "
"“Sutton Winson have been members of the BHBPA for around 7 years. We have found it a great way to keep in touch with Burgess Hill businesses and to meet with likeminded people. It’s not just another “networking” group, as it tackles the real issues and gets things done”"
